1. Good in This Life & the Hereafter

The Prophet ﷺ frequently made this duʿāʾ, calling it one of the most comprehensive supplications.

Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

2. Protection from the Greatest Trials

The Prophet ﷺ instructed Muslims to seek refuge with this duāʾ in every prayer.

O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, the trials of life and death, and the trial of the False Messiah.

3. Firmness of Faith

Despite being Allah’s Messenger, the Prophet ﷺ often recited this duʿāʾ.

O Allah, keep our hearts firm upon Your religion.

4. Forgiveness & Well-Being

The Prophet ﷺ said there is nothing better to ask for than forgiveness and well-being.

O Allah, we ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter.

5. Relief from Worry & Hardship

The Prophet ﷺ recited this duʿāʾ during times of stress and taught it to his companions.

O Allah, we seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from weakness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from the burden of debt and the oppression of others.

6. Guidance, Righteousness & Piety

The Prophet ﷺ frequently asked Allah for guidance and uprightness.

O Allah, make us and our family among the righteous, close to You, loving You and loving obedience to You.

7. Protection for the Family

The Prophet ﷺ would regularly seek Allah’s protection for himself and his household.

O Allah, protect us and our family with Your Eye that never sleeps, and shield us from all harm.

8. Peace of Heart & Tranquility

The Prophet ﷺ loved supplications that brought calmness and reassurance to the heart.

O Allah, open our hearts and place tranquility within our hearts and our homes.

9. Love, Unity & Family Harmony

This meaning is drawn from Qur’anic supplication and the Prophet’s ﷺ emphasis on mercy within the home.

O Allah, unite our hearts and make our homes places of peace and mercy.

10. A Good Ending

The Prophet ﷺ taught believers to always ask Allah for a good ending.

O Allah, grant us all a good ending.
