How To Spread Positive Vibes?

The prophet ‘peace be upon him’ teaches us to be positive and spread it to others. He was optimistic in all his life conditions, even in the hardest moments that he passed through and when his life was in danger. He always loved to believe in the good omen, through his faith in Allah and his mercy. Just like our role model, each one of us must be a reason for positive vibes in society starting from ourselves and spreading to others.

Positivity is made with your own hands. It is a choice from the inside, and derives from the faith we have in Allah. In this article, we give you some ways to spread positivity among others and share the beautiful vibes:

1. Find your Inner Happiness

Your inner happiness and positivity reflect on others, so you must work on yourself first, before spreading the vibes to others. Inner peace leads to a better life for yourself, your entourage, and every single soul you deal with. Happiness is unlimited and is available for each one of us, yet we need to look for it. It stems from the inside of a person, and it only requires to upright on Allah’s command to create a real connection with him. You can reach this phase by the remembrance of Allah, increasing your prayers and reciting the Quran. Be satisfied with what you have and have faith that what’s coming is better and that Allah has better plans for you. Always look at the bright side and be reconciled with yourself to reach better outcomes, have inner peace and reflect positivity on others. It is contagious.

Allah’s Messenger () stated that Allah says, “I am present when my servant thinks of me, and I am with him when he remembers me. If he remembers me inwardly, I shall remember him inwardly, and if he remembers me among people, I shall remember him among people who are better than them” (Al Bukhari and Muslim)

    Allah said in the Quran:

    فَعَسَىٰ أَن تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَيَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا (19)
“Perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good” (Surah An-Nisaa, Verse 19)

Be happy for others and do not hold any pangs of jealousy for anyone, even if they reached higher levels or got better opportunities in life. Be happy for them, congratulate them and share their joy, so that you will be rewarded and Allah will offer you the same or the better.

    2. Smile Often

"تَبَسُّمُك في وَجْه أَخِيك لك صدقة" (رواه الترمذي)
"Your smile in the face of your brother is charity” (At-Tirmidhi)

Did you know that faking a smile does really affect you positively and reflect on you and others? Train yourself on smiling because it is a simple way to start spreading positivity. It puts you and the people around you in a better and relaxed mood. So show these white pearls and spread the positive vibes of a common language among humans.

A smile is a reason to change someone else’s day, give him positive vibes and create a new path for communication; and our prophet ‘peace be upon him’ was cheerful and smiling.

      3. Be optimistic by being close to Allah and Share the Vibes

Being optimistic means having a high level of faith, because for those who are believers, Allah eliminates their sorrow and sadness, and of course, the eternal healing and satisfaction will be in the hereafter.

“So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are true believers” (Surah Aal Imran, Verse 139)

Spread these vibes to others by informing them how merciful and generous Allah is, and quote the verses and hadiths that promise Muslims and believers the best reward and the best outcome.

        4. Offer Gifts

Gifts have a major positive impact on the receiver, and the prophet ‘peace be upon him’ recommended us to exchange gifts because it spreads love.

           "‏تَهَادوا تَحَابُّوا" (رواه البخاري)
“Give presents to each other so you love each other” (Al Bukhari)

Since the gift is its main purpose to bring happiness to the heart of the gifted person and although it has various forms and ways, yet to gain the affection and appreciation of the gifted, it should be appropriate to his hobbies, age and work he does, so that it will be of benefit to him. A simple flower is one of the best gifts that could offered, because the prophet ‘peace be upon him’ said:

          "مَنْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ رَيْحَانٌ فَلَا يَرُدُّهُ فَإِنَّهُ خَفِيفُ الْمَحْمَلِ طَيِّبُ الرّيح" (رَوَاهُ مُسلم)
"If anyone is offered basil, he must not reject it, for it is light to carry and has a sweet scent” (Muslim)

          5. Help the Elderly

"‏ليس منا من لم يرحم صغيرنا، ويعرف شرف كبيرنا‏"‏ ‏(‏‏رواه أبو داود والترمذي)
The prophet (ﷺ) said, "He is not one of us who shows no mercy to younger ones and does not acknowledge the honor due to our elders” (Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi)

It is always a perfect time to offer a helping hand for elderlies, whether they were relatives, neighbors or even people at the infirmary. A simple act from your side will shift their day, even if it was few moments you spend with them while listening to their stories and interacting with them. No matter how old a person is, everyone is in desperate need of some positivity to be shared with them, especially nowadays, during all the difficult times we are witnessing.

            6. Perform an Act of Kindness

A quote in Arabic says: "من سار بين الناس جابرا للخواطر ادركه الله في جوف المخاطر"

The meaning: “Whoever walked among people as a healer of thoughts (performing acts of kindness that affect the heart positively), Allah helps him amid dangers.”

The prophet was the kindest person ever and he urged us to be kind with others to get the reward back in life and the hereafter. Performing an act of kindness could be in a cup of coffee for your colleague, offering a helping hand for someone in need, sharing your tips on doing a specific thing, sending a cheering text for someone in a bad mood or paying someone’s debt without return.
We always have the opportunity to change someone’s day.

              7. Be There for Someone

When someone is feeling down, or passing through hard times, he needs support from the people who love him and can support him. Your presence and support are very essential and are a major reason to change the mood of the person. Offering positive vibes and kind words for a distressed person, ensure a major reward and a give back on the hard times that you might face.

“Is the reward for anything good but good?” (Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 60)

Keep in mind that you will always get for giving, even after a while.

In many situations, the prophet was present to console others, and here is the hadith that narrates one of these situations, when the prophet showed support for a child who lost his bird:

Anas bin Malik reported: “Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had the sublimest character among mankind. I had a brother who was called Abu 'Umair. I think he was weaned. When Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came to our house he saw him, and said:
Abu 'Umair, what has the sparrow done? He (Anas) said that he had been playing with him” (Muslim)

                8. Share Positive Vibes on Social Media

                   "‏والكلمة الطيبة صدقة‏" (متفق عليه)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It is also charity to utter a good word" (Al Bukhari and Muslim)

It is a responsibility of each Muslim to share positivity in their words, according to the saying of the prophet ‘peace be upon him,’ whether in the virtual or real world. You can spread positive content, be kind in the comments and give compliments, leave positive reviews and give some advice.

Let’s not use the platforms we create to show hatred or criticism, yet we must always encourage and apply positivity and cheerful appearances.

                  9. Keep the Negativity to Yourself

Sharing negative vibes and being pessimistic is an act that pleases the devil, so never lose confidence in Allah!

As mentioned above, the prophet ‘peace be upon him’ was always optimistic, and he didn’t love people to spread negativity.

                     "‏ يَسِّرُوا وَلاَ تُعَسِّرُوا، وَسَكِّنُوا وَلاَ تُنَفِّرُوا ‏"‏‏ (البخاري)
He (ﷺ) said, "Make things easy for the people, and do not make it difficult for them, and make them calm (with glad tidings) and do not repulse them” (Al Bukhari)

Don’t express your melancholy that affects others nor share negative or bad words that lead to unfavorable feelings.

Always be a source of happiness and energy, just like the prophet loves and like other Muslims prefer. It is a lot easier to be happy and optimistic than bringing all the burden of worries over your shoulders and transferring it to others.
